My favorite problem solving project was the newspaper tower where you had to build the biggest tower possible with newspaper. The problem we faced with this project was that newspapers aren't exactly the sturdiest things and can bend. Overcoming this project we layered a lot more newspapers around the base and made it go skinnier as it went higher.
This week I started a project based on limitation. I am drawing a tree that I remember seeing in my dream. The problem with this limitation is that the dream can be foggy and in most parts I am making up what the tree looks like based on some parts that I know what it looks like. My final piece will turn out to be a twisting black tree with vivid background colors, blending and swirling.
How are stealing and copying different? Stealing and copying are different because stealing is taking something from someone let it be an idea, or item. Copying is when someone looks at one's item and gets an idea from that and adds their own personal twist.
In this piece i did fire extinguisher spraying fire. The irony in this picture is that a fire extinguishers task does the complete opposite, it extinguishes a fire.
The value of this artwork is that i put two ideas that go completely against each other, and put them together. In this picture they work with each other, instead of against.
For the Artists Observe project i did a clay pot/vase. Did you pick a material or technique that was new or different over something that was familiar? I picked the clay pot because i knew i would gain new skills that i once didn't have. I could have taken the easier route and gone with painting or drawing because thats familiar, but i wanted to trky something new.
I drew Jasmine from the disney movie Aladdin in Aladdin's clothing. Did you learn new techniques or processes as part of the work for this project? I learned how to use a lightbox approach and use a window instead but use the same techniques and ideas when tracing.
This is the Color Me Katie Project that i did with Katie, Megan & Cameron. We left the poster in the gym. Did you use a source for inspiration, then combine it with your own ideas to make it original? My group used a source of inspiration for this project. Katie from the Color Me Katie video gave us the idea to use the bubbles and the idea of capturing someone underneath the bubbles.
